Welcome to BirdLife Australia!

As of 1 January 2012, BOCA has merged with Birds Australia to become BirdLife Australia. The new BirdLife Australia website will go live in early February, and until then the current BOCA site will continue to be available.

At BirdLife Australia we are dedicated to achieving outstanding conservation results for our native birds and their habitats. With our specialised knowledge and the commitment of an Australia-wide network of members, volunteers and supporters, we are creating a bright future for Australia’s birds. Look out for our new website from February 2012 at birdlife.org.au

Conservation

BOCA has a long and proud record in conservation, both at the local and national level, and gives practical encouragement to concerned birdwatchers to initiate programs to benefit birdlife and natural habitat. BOCA employs a Conservation Coordinator and an Assistant and provides seeding grants for small scale habitat protection and endangered species research, through our own Australian Bird Environment Foundation (ABEF).

BOCA's Conservation Objectives are:

  • to encourage the scientific study and research of Australian birds and their habitats, so as to facilitate their conservation and well-being.
  • to monitor and investigate threats to the survival of Australian birds and to take action to maintain, protect or enhance their survival, habitat and associated flora and fauna.

To read a downloaded document you will need a PDF reader such as Adobe's Acrobat Reader, which you may download and use for free. (Other PDF readers are also available)
Typically left clicking on a document link will open the document in a new browser window and right-clicking will give the option to download the document to your computer, but this depends on the software you use and how it is configured.
